In New England demography 2 - problems with projections, I referred to the disquiet New England mayors felt at the latest NSW population projections that showed long term population falls for inland New England. I have just caught up on the fact that that Tenterfield Shire Council mayor Toby Smith has panned predictions that forecast a declining population in Tenterfield, pointing out that Tenterfield has begun to grow.
While I still have to complete my analysis of New England demography, it would seem probable that population growth since the 2006 census has already invalidated the projections.
